Welcome to Rickway Kennels located in friendly Manitoba.

Rickway Kennels has had many excellent opportunities to add to and enhance the original dogs that had been purchased from Australia and the UK.

Rickway Kennels strives for the complete Labrador, not attempting to overemphasize type over movement or temperament. Rickways foundation stock are founded on some of the finest old British lines available today.

Rickways accomplishments are substantial, varied and continuing. Rickway puppies have won Nationals, and repeatedly through their offspring both in Canada and the US, continue to produce Best in Show Winners, both of All Breed and Specialties, High in Trial Obedience winners, and dogs competing in and earning hunting titles.

I have attained the distinction of “Master Breeder”. This is the result of over 50 years of breeding and showing 4 different breeds. There are  very few of these awards awarded in Canada. 

It is symbolic of a lifetime of dedication to purebred dogs. Structure and movement and adherence to the CKC breed standard is a major focus in all of my breeding programs. I continue to adhere to the standards that Lorne originated with in the purchase of out first Labrador from Australia.

I am a licensed Canadian Kennel Club judge for Group 1 (Sporting), Group 3 (Working), Group 5 (Toys), Group 6, (Non-Sporting), Group 7 (Herding) and am now on permit for Group 2 (Hounds).
